Lakshmi Balakrishnan , founder Phoenix Education Foundation & Funtellec Play School .

Has a vast experience of working with children in fun learning environments in the USA and European countries. A trained Bharathnatyam dancer , she also plays the veena and is trained in carnatic music . Was an active participant at inter school cultural events during her school days . Completed her schooling from Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan (Nungambakkam) , graduated in commerce from the Ethiraj College For Women and later did her PGDBA (FINANCE) .Has attended several training programmes for children and adolescent at NIMHANS , Bengaluru .


She brings with her a love for learning and a dream to create strong and independent adults .


"Excellence is never an accident; it's always the result of high intention, sincere efforts, intelligent direction and skilful execution." is the mantra in she believes in. A mix of curiosity and caring and a commitment is to learning are her strong qualities.


Children of today need an education that prepares them to meet the challenges of the competitive world. While academic strength is essential to survive, they need good communication skills, good character and an attitude to be lifelong learners and contribute in a positive way to the society, at large. Ethics and etiquette, morals and discipline, values and culture, all need to be ingrained into them to make them good human beings and also responsible global citizens. She believes that every child is unique and has to be provided with an opportunity to succeed in its own way.


You can achieve anything that you set your mind to. Remember to look at the positive side of everything. Believe in yourself and the fact that you are going to make it no matter what path you're on and when.
